Thank you for the comment on my Tiddlerosis site. No, Yamaha did not release the Trailmaster 80 until late 1963. I am not even totally certain that any trail models were sold in the U. S. prior to 1964. As you may have seen at Tiddlerosis, I owned a 1963 YG-1 Rotary Jet 80. This road version came out in the spring of '63, and I got mine that summer. I am not sure how long it was before the Trailmaster version was released after the road bike, but it certainly was not in 1962, at least not in the U. S.
